Chinese snooker star Wu Lize receives racist abuse during a match.
The incident occurred during the 21-year-old's last 16 clash with Elliot Slessor at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester on Saturday.Wu had been leading 46-43 during their encounter, with the event having altered rules to traditional snooker.The Chinese cueist had missed a yellow to the corner pocket when a spectator could be heard shouting 'egg fried rice'.
During another match involving Slessor earlier in the tournament, chants of 'there's only one Gregg Wallace' could be heard as he faced Mark Joyce.Wallace has been accused of allegedly making sexual remarks to several women and is currently under investigation by MasterChef's production company Banijay.Former snooker world champion Terry Griffiths, whose Crucible win made history, has diedThe world number 27 later beat Andrew Higginson to move into the last four.
He is in action once again this week as the World Snooker Tour continues with the Scottish Open in Edinburgh. The ranking event begins on Monday and will run until Sunday's final at the Meadowbank Sports Centre.
