A suspect is in custody and multiple officers are on administrative duty following a shooting in Dolton.
A shootout between a suspect and multiple Chicago police officers in Dolton ended in an arrest Saturday evening.Chicago police and SWAT were called at 5:45 p.m. for a follow-up investigation in the 15200 block of S. Meadow Lane in Dolton.Details on the follow-up are limited, but Chicago police came into contact with a wanted suspect.The suspect, who hasn't been named, exchanged gunfire with multiple officers.
"Currently, the specifics of this incident, including the comprehensive use of force investigation, are being investigated by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability with the full cooperation of the Chicago Police Department," Chicago police said.The officers involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative duties for 30 days as the investigation continues.The Chicago Office of Police Accountability was also called to the scene and is investigating.
