Shoppers can pick up items that look just like Lululemon, Gymshark, House of CB and Urban Outfitters pieces
A Liverpool city centre shop that's nestled on the upper floor of St Johns Shopping Centre has carved out a reputation for itself as something of a hidden gem with Scouse shoppers. The clothing store may not be a big-name high-street brand, but it's certainly got plenty of fans across the city.
And while very few people from outside of Liverpool will have ever heard of the store, it's been kitting out women for their big nights out and cosy nights in for a number of years. Storm is located on the first floor of St Johns, right by the escalators which take shoppers up towards the unofficial Liverpool FC and Everton FC merchandise stall. The shop is packed from wall to wall with everything from comfy tracksuits to diamanté encrusted hot pants, extensions, handbags and piercings. When you step through the doors of Storm, you're immediately met by the bright glow of overhead spotlights and the blaring sound of club classics coming from the speakers. At the front of the store, shoppers will find more casual loungewear sets, with a huge range of matching tracksuits, oversized hoodies and 'activewear' in every conceivable colour combination. A number of the gym sets look comparable to popular Gymshark sets, but at a fraction of the price with some of the sets for sale for as little as £10. On a nearby rack, a number of structured workout sets looked just like the popular lululemon versions, with the luxury sportwear brand's 'define' jackets priced at more than £100 each. By comparison, the Storm clothing versions cost £20 for the matching set, and are available in a number of muted, pastel tones. Away from the more casual leisurewear section of the store, the area closest to the till is filled with outfit options for going out. There's everything from glittery corsets, denim two-piece sets, lacy hot pants and all manner of diamante-splattered tops, shorts and skirts. Two of the items that caught the eye upon browsing the shop were dead ringers for House of CB dresses, which are always popular for occasion wear - especially with TikTok influencers. Priced at just £20 each, the dresses are a much more cost-effective alternative for a big night out than splashing out on a House of CB dress. The black dresses with a romantic style ruched bust and boning along the waistline look similar to House of CB signature dresses priced at more than £170 each. Tucked away behind all the clothing options, the rear of the store is dedicated to accessories, with everything from hair extensions to clips and jewellery. Close to the till, a selection of cute flower-design hair clips look similar to Urban Outfitters versions which retail for £12 each but the Storm versions are just £2 - meaning you could pick up six for the same price. Storm Clothing has been helping Scouse shoppers pick out stylish outfits for more than 20 years, and it's long-since established itself as a g-to for many fashion lovers. The shop also offers a 10% discount for students and Blue Light card holders.
