Narinder Kaur travelled around the country fooling shops into giving her refunds for items she had actually stolen, targeting top retailers more than 1,000 times in her four-year crime spree.
A shoplifter who made it her 'full-time job' to defraud high street stores out of £500,000 in a 'tsunami of dishonesty on an Olympian scale' has been jailed.
Narinder Kaur, 54, travelled all over the country to deceive retailers into refunding her for items she had stolen The largest single fraud was committed against Boots and an examination of her many bank and credit card accounts showed she had visited stores in Cheltenham, Malvern, Solihull, Droitwich, Kidderminster, Dudley and Smethwick.
She also visited several Monsoon stores in the West Midlands, South Wales and Thames Valley where she claimed £23,000 more in refunds than in payments to the stores. Kaur also lied to a magistrates' court by producing false documents to avoid being convicted of speeding offences and to a crown court in a bid to relax her bail conditions.
During two police searches of her home, around £150,000 in cash was found hidden away as well as stolen goods
