Christopher Gras, who was banned from most shops in Skegness due to a series of shop thefts, was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail after breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order.
A shoplifter has been jailed after stealing more than £100 worth of meat and being found guilty of attempted theft and breaching a criminal behaviour order . Christopher Gras was banned from all but two shops in Skegness after a series of shop thefts, which meant he was only allowed to enter the Aldi on Burgh Road and Boots on Lumley Road. This Criminal Behaviour Order was issued against Gras on Thursday, January 9, when he appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.
If a person breaches the order, which are usually given to those whose anti-social behaviour sees them frequently brought before the court, they can be jailed. Gras, of Alexandra Road, Skegness, appeared before officials at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 3, to face the charges of breaching the order, theft and attempted theft. The 34-year-old also answered to one count of breaching his conditional discharge. He pleaded guilty to entering the Lidl supermarket in Skegness without reasonable excuse on January 11, and also pleaded guilty to attempting to steal washing pods of an unknown value from the store. He also pleaded guilty to entering The Card Corner without reasonable excuse on January 12. Gras also pleaded guilty to entering the Marks and Spencer store on January 13 and to stealing meat to the value of £150 from the store. He has been sentenced to 18 weeks in jail. Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Jacky Evans said: “We are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour by issuing CBOs to individuals who persist in such activities. We will closely monitor those with CBOs and take swift action if they continue in their offending. “This behaviour is wholly unacceptable in our coastal towns and across the county. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will do everything in its power to ensure everyone who lives, works or visits here feels safe and secure.
