These £1 hair bands are said to repel head lice and shoppers are snapping them up ahead of the new school term
If the the new school term is filling you with dread because you're worried about head lice, then bargain hunters reckon they've found a solution – and it's under £1. Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, which has more than 2.5million members, one user posted a photo of a recent find in Home Bargains.Beneath the caption was a picture of a set of 'lice repellent' hair bands.

Escenti Head Lice repellent hair bands 8 pack, 99p Although these head lice bands are no longer available through the Home Bargains website, shoppers have found them in stores.'These hair bands contain all-natural ingredients that are specially formulated to keep lice away.
'The Escenti Head Lice repellent hair bands are infused with natural oils that have been shown to be successful in fighting head lice.'They don't work' However, some parents who had already tried the bands on their kids claim they don't work.Plenty of parents did have tips for alternative head lice remedies though.
'Get a spray bottle and mix a few drops of lavender oil and a few drops of tea tree and water' one advised. 'Spray the hair each morning before brushing helps to repel lice and smells much better than these.'
