Let’s talk about the only MVP in Seahawks history.
Legendary Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander was recently on the Up & Adams show with Kay Adams to talk about his career, including the fact that he’s not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Alexander is well aware of the “But look at your offensive line!” arguments. Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson are both in Canton for their exemplary blocking, but Alexander hasn’t followed suit despite several years as one of the league’s best running backs.
While I’m of the opinion that longevity in itself shouldn’t be heavily weighed in the selection process, Alexander having what amounts to four seasons of elite play is not likely to convince voters that he should be in Canton. The one exception that could’ve helped Alexander is Terrell Davis, who similarly had a four-year peak before injuries and migraines prematurely ended his career.
