Residents have been told about authority's plans to convert the former retirement home into 'temporary accommodation for individuals who are homeless'.
Residents in Shrewsbury have said they are concerned about "safety and quality of life" after a council revealed it planning to turn a former retirement home into a homeless shelter.Last week, households in the area were sent letters from Shropshire Council outlining the authority's plans to convert Coton Hill House in Berwick Road from a retirement home into"temporary accommodation for individuals who are homeless".
The council first revealed its plans in a consultation in June last year and asked residents for their thoughts on the proposals. However, the council says it now intends to seek planning permission for the project, but residents in the area say they have safety fears over the proposals.
