Shrewsbury Town defender Morgan Feeney was taken to a hospital for precautionary measures following a suspected neck injury sustained during a match against Stockport County. Manager Gareth Ainsworth expressed hope for a positive outcome and praised the prompt actions of both medical teams.

Shrewsbury Town manager Gareth Ainsworth expressed cautious optimism regarding defender Morgan Feeney 's condition after the player was stretchered off the field during the team's 1-0 loss to Stockport County . Feeney, 25, went down inside the penalty area shortly after the hour mark at Edgeley Park. He remained on the ground for over 10 minutes with a suspected neck injury sustained in a collision.

Both Shrewsbury and Stockport's medical teams immediately responded, and Feeney was eventually removed from the field on a stretcher. 'He has gone to hospital as a precaution,' Ainsworth stated. 'He had a knock on his neck, either in the air or when he landed. We are not quite sure watching the video, but there has been an issue with his neck, so obviously anything with that you cannot be too careful with.' Ainsworth lauded the swift and efficient response from both medical teams. 'I want to thank the Stockport medical team, my medical team. I thought everyone worked exceptionally well - really quickly.' He continued, 'Hoping that there is good news and that Morgan is fine and he does not have to be kept in hospital or anything. I think early signs are positive, but I don't want to be the bearer of any news that is not right, but as far as I can see, he came off conscious. He was moving his hands and his feet, so I am hoping it is just a precaution.'Reflecting on the gravity of the situation, Ainsworth added, 'Some things overshadow everything, and that is one of those things. Our thoughts and prayers are with Morgs, and hopefully, he makes a full recovery.' Meanwhile, the club has announced that Feeney will remain under observation at the hospital
