Care providers in Shropshire are facing potential closure due to a planned rise in employer National Insurance contributions (ENICs).

David Crosby, chief executive of Partners in Care, an organization representing care providers in Shropshire , is urging the government to exempt care workers from a rise in employer National Insurance contributions (ENICs). Crosby warns that the 10% increase in staff costs starting in April will be too much for care providers to absorb without a corresponding increase in fees from local authorities.

He fears that many care homes and home care providers will be forced to close due to the financial strain.
