Shropshire Council plans to move to the Guildhall in Shrewsbury while permanent offices are built.
Shropshire Council is hoping to have all departments moved out of its main headquarters in Shrewsbury by the start of the new year.
There are plans to relocate council services to the Guildhall in the town centre until new offices are built as part of the Riverside development. The council said the move was part of its plan to make the authority “modern, efficient and financially sustainable,” adding that Shirehall was a building four times bigger than was required.The future of the site is yet to be decided, but the council confirmed that developers had shown interest in the land, although its estimated value will remain confidential.
