The charity expressed deep disappointment and sadness over the decision, emphasizing the service's successful operation since 2021, where it has assisted over 750 families through community groups in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, and Oswestry, as well as various events across Shropshire.
Breastfeeding Network Shropshire volunteers have provided evidence-based information and support, empowering families to make confident decisions about their feeding journeys. The organization celebrated milestones and feeding goals with families, offering a space for those facing challenges and navigating parenthood. The spokesperson highlighted the service's positive reputation built on the dedication and skills of local volunteers, leaving a lasting legacy. The charity invites the community to join its final support groups next week, commemorating the project's journey. These sessions will take place at Helena Lane Community Centre in Ludlow on Tuesday, February 4, Sunflower House in Shrewsbury on Thursday, February 6, and Oswestry Library on Friday, February 7, all from 10 am to 12 pm. The spokesperson concluded by expressing gratitude for the opportunity to support families in Shropshire over the past few years.
