He targeted the girl for several years
A sick Kettering man repeatedly abused a girl for almost 10 years. Raymond Wykes, 48, targeted the girl for several years and subjected her to repeated assaults. Last March, the girl felt able to report what had happened to police.
Wykes, of Headlands, Kettering, entered guilty pleas to all charges when he appeared in court in February this year. Appearing for sentencing at Northampton Crown Court on April 17, he was jailed for nine years and five months. He will also serve an additional one year on licence. Wykes will also be on the sex offender register and subject to a sexual harm prevention order for life.
“Disclosing abuse like this can be incredibly hard, but with the love and support of her family and friends, she felt able to tell us what Wykes had done, and it was her evidence that enabled us to build a case that resulted in his admissions of guilt.
