Sick pets, dead wildlife and foul smells still being reported weeks after Blackpool sewage leak

Locals remain worried as the Environment Agency has still not published water bathing data following a burst pipe on 11 June SteveRobson04 reports

Gary Lovattt, a volunteer with the Surfers Against Sewage campaign, has been taking his own water quality samples after being trained by an expert because it considers the burst pipe an “abnormal” event that could give an unfair reflection of bathing standards in the area.The agency also argued that its testing regime should be viewed as giving a “wider picture” of “long-term trends” rather than “live water quality updates”.
