THE Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday that Signal No. 3 has been raised anew in extreme Northern Luzon after Typhoon 'Goring' was reported to have 're-intensified' and may even reach Signal No. 4
According to weather specialist Grace Castaneda, Signal No. 3 is up over the northeastern portion of Babuyan Islands while Signal No. 2 is raised over Batanes, the rest of Babuyan Islands and the extreme northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan .Also in Luzon, Signal No. 1 remains over the northern and eastern portions of mainland Cagayan , the eastern portion of Isabela , the northern portion of Apayao , and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte .She told The Manila Times that Signal No.
'During this period, the typhoon is forecast to re-intensify and may peak at near-super typhoon strength by the time it passes very close or over Batanes,' the Pagasa forecaster said.'Re-intensifying into a super typhoon is also not ruled out,' she added.Being enhanced by the typhoon is the southwest monsoon or 'habagat,' which is expected to dump occasional rains over the western portions of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon and Visayas over the next three days.
