Celtic haven't won a Champions League game anywhere since a 3-0 triumph away to Anderlecht in 2017.
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan sees no hope for Celtic against Atletico Madrid because of their recent tribulations dining at European football's top table.
Celtic haven't won a Champions League game anywhere since a 3-0 triumph away to Anderlecht in 2017 and haven't basked in the glory of a victory under the Parkhead lights since Ajax were defeated 2-1 a decade ago. Now the doubting broadcaster isn't holding out much hope that record will end tonight when swaggering Diego Simeone and Co take to Glasgow's east end.
Atletico are winless in their last five away matches in the Champions League, however Jordan believes the La Liga heavyweights are rightly odds-on favourites against Brendan Rodgers' men. Danny Murphy raised the Parkhead atmosphere factor but Jordan was quick to remind the former Liverpool star of recent Celtic woes at the elite level. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "They don't win Champions League games, Celtic.
And Jordan reckons Simeone's side powered by Alvaro Morata and Antoine Griezmann are the real deal. He added: "They smashed Real Madrid recently, they have just beaten Rafa Benitez's Celtic Vigo 3-0 away. I think they are in pretty good nick, aren't they?" Celtic are aiming to rediscover a knack for big wins on home turf with the Hoops winning 10 of their first 12 ever home games in the Champions League and only losing once at the hands of Barcelona.
