Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles is the subject of a new two-part Netflix documentary where she reveals an inside look at her return to the gym following the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. “Simone Biles Rising” starts streaming on July 17.
Simone Biles recently made her third U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, but her road to the 2024 Paris Games was a rocky one, complete with an agonizing trip down memory lane. In her documentary series, “Simone Biles Rising,” which premiered July 17 on Netflix, the most decorated gymnast in history takes viewers inside of her “forbidden Olympic closet.
Biles next pulls out a COVID-19 mask, which she compares to a “dog muzzle,” that athletes were given to wear at the Games, which were initially postponed in 2020 due to concerns over the pandemic and took place a year later. She also finds a boarding pass for her flight from San Francisco to Tokyo, her opening and closing ceremony uniforms and her number, 392.
