Simpsons ends use of white actors to voice people of colour
Actor Hank Azaria, the voice of Indian character Apu, said in January he was stepping down
Friday's announcement comes in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests, which were sparked by the death of African-American George Floyd in US police custody on 25 May. "We all made the decision together... We all agreed on it. We all feel like it's the right thing," he said at the time.Mr Azaria - who provides the voice of other characters, including black police officer Lou and the Mexican-American Bumblebee Man - said he found it"very upsetting to me personally and professionally" that anyone felt marginalised because of Apu.
