This is entirely appropriate. Trade matters, and the tariff regime and associated trading arrangements have some bearing on trade performance. But nothing like as much as people commonly think. You don’t need trade agreements in order to trade. This is shown by the fact that, despite there currently being no trade agreement between us, our largest single export market is the US.
