Mum-of-two Cheryl Kerr has slammed North Lanarkshire after they homed in a property on Uig Way, Shotts, which she claims is 'unsafe' for her family to live in.
A disabled single mum has been forced to send her children to live elsewhere after asbestos and dampness were found in their council house.
Cheryl told the Daily Record she was horrified when she discovered the 'catalogue of issues' she found in their two-bedroom new home after she hired workmen to decorate. Cheryl said: "It's not safe for my children to live here. It's also dangerous for me because of my illness."The council have said they will remove the asbestos but why were we given this house in the first place."The place also stinks of dampness but the council haven't said what they are going to do about the problem.She added: "I've had the keys for a few months now but I didn't have enough money to decorate right away.
