BREAKING: Michelle O’Neill, the vice-president of Irish republican party Sinn Féin, has announced she will attend the coronation of King Charles III.
Michelle O’Neill has said the gesture would show she is committed to good relations with the UK
The former deputy first minister of Northern Ireland, who would be in line to become first minister if the current impasse at Stormont is resolved, said the move would demonstrate her commitment to good relations with the UK. ‘I am an Irish republican. I also recognise there are many people on our island for whom the coronation is a hugely important occasion.’
