For the second straight time, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans fell short in their bid for a breakthrough title in the Premier Volleyball League at the expense of the same rival -- the Creamline Cool Smashers.
It was like deja vu: exiting the volleyball court blanketed with white confetti, hearing the crowd’s celebratory cheers that wasn’t for them.
“Wala kaming pinagsisisihan sa performance namin,” said Rondina moments after the Flying Titans lost in Game 2 of their best-of-three finals series in the All-Filipino Conference late Sunday, May 12. It was a rematch of last conference’s finals, with Choco Mucho seeking to write a different narrative this time after losing the Second All-Filipino crown to Creamline via a finals sweep.
But the Cool Smashers were built differently come championship. Honed by 11 finals appearances -- and winning the title on seven occasions -- the Cool Smashers retaliated to the Flying Titans' resilient attempts for another championship trophy.
