The candidates for the Arran by-election have been confirmed, with six people contesting the seat held by Tory Timothy Billings, who recently retired as a councillor.
Matt Taylor represents the Scottish Liberal Democrats, while Neil Alexander Wilson has been selected by the Scottish Greens and James Andrew McMaster is an Independent. Carole Thomson will stand for Reform UK. The deadline to apply to vote by proxy or for postal applications is 5pm on Wednesday, August 28.
