Officials at Pirates Cove Marina say they're building their new barn to be more wind resistant by using heavier iron and making it 15 feet shorter than the previous barn.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - It’s been more than six months since tornadoes tore through the Panhandle, leaving destruction in their path.

“That was a devastating week for us because we had just finished rebuilding after Hurricane Michael,” said Shana Duncan, Office Manager at Treasure Island Marina. “We were doing debris cleanup for a few days. There was shrapnel and everything scattered over the grassy lawn here. We had a lot of wet slip customers that had some damage on their boats and the docks based on all of the boats moving around and being tossed through the tornado.
