A six-year-old boy has escaped serious injury after a fire broke out at his home in Penrith. 9News
The young boy smashed the front window of a two-storey townhouse to escape the fire and was assisted by pedestrian walking past on Rodley Avenue in Penrith.READ MORE:The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for lacerations before he was taken to Nepean Hospital for further treatment.
Police believe the child was the only person in the home at the time the fire broke out, with the child's mother arriving on scene a short time later.The home was full-engulfed when emergency services arrived. "There were no other damage to the adjoining properties," Sibary said.Fire investigators and scene-of-crime officers are working to determine if a candle left alight in the kitchen was the cause.Continue reading
