Leeds had hoped for an immediate return to the Championship but the top two are creating a huge gap
Leeds' decent start to the Championship season has seen them fall directly into the play-off spots after 11 games - but the class above them have flown out of the traps.
A post on Reddit by user '@PanicOnTheStreetsOf' shows a table of the best starts to a Championship season after 11 games since its inauguration in 2004. Leeds, surprisingly, are not on the list of top 20 clubs at any point in their Championship career, with 20th-placed Norwich having taken 23 points from their opening 33 in 2016/17.
That in itself is a huge tally - but when looking at this season's incredible array of starts, it becomes even tougher reading for Leeds fans. Leicester do top the list of best starts in Championship history with an outstanding 30 points from a possible 33, the same tally as Sheffield United in 2005/06, albeit with a better goal difference by 3.
