Sky News’ Jacquie Beltrao gives cancer update as she celebrates major milestone
The former Olympic gymnast took to social media to mark the significant anniversary of when she was told there were no traces of cancer left in her body.Jacquie told followers: "I'd never thought I'd see my boys finish university - they're back from Durham and Leeds and next week they'll graduate.
"I feel I’ve done some good interesting work in the last 3 years at Sky - maybe having a time limit on my life freed me in some way - I don’t know."Physically I’m in good shape - my left arm is fatter than the other due to lack of lymph nodes, I get a lot of mouth issues, I get tired sometimes and I’m not sure how solid my bones are but all in all I’m good."
The Sky sports presenter also encouraged those who are facing a recent diagnosis, adding: "try to keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep your family and friends close - you are still in the game". Her announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations and well-wishes from fans and colleagues.
One person gushed: "I'm so so so so happy to hear this, and so wonderful to see the boys graduate. Getting my own results this afternoon so fingers crossed this bodes well.
