Former Liverpool defender Joel Matip could be set to make an unexpected return to the Premier League as one club is reportedly interested in the centre back.The Hammers are also considering former Sheffield United defender John Egan as they look to replace Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd who each left the club last week.
Speaking at the end of last season before both he and Matip left Liverpool, Klopp had high praise for the defender. In another press conference, he added: "Have you ever seen a better free transfer than Joel Matip? He’s ridiculously funny and a great man. Whoever gets him is a lucky club. World class and super humble."
