Customers could see their bills go up by nearly £30 from tomorrow
Usually, companies increase contract prices in spring by either the Consumer Price Index or the Retail Price Index plus an extra 3 per cent, 3.7 per cent or 3.9 per cent. Most of these calculations are based on December's inflation figures, which for 2023 stood at 4 per cent.
Firms including Plusnet and BT introduced price hikes to customers from today. Below we've set out all of the mobile and broadband companies raising their prices from the start of April - including Sky, Three and Vodafone.A Sky spokesperson said: “Our Sky broadband and TV products will see an average increase of 6.7% from April.
"The increases reflect inflationary pressures we are facing as a business including energy prices, supplier increases and increased staffing costs. Despite this change, our prices remain some of the most competitive in the market and we have a range of support, including a social tariff via SMARTY, available for customers struggling with their finances.”
O2 specifically will use the RPI published in February plus 3.9 per cent for customers whose plans started on or after March 25, 2021. However, for customers whose plans started before March 25, 2021, they will only see a rise by the RPI rate but there may be varied changes depending on a customer's unique.
