Finlay MacDonald was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 28 years for the murder of John MacKinnon and attempted murders of his family members on the Isle of Skye. The victim's family described MacDonald as 'evil and selfish'.
Skye gunman Finlay MacDonald, branded 'evil and selfish' by the victim's family, has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 28 years for the murder of his brother-in-law John MacKinnon and the attempted murder s of his wife, Rowena MacDonald, and married couple Fay and John Mackenzie. MacDonald was found guilty of the crime after a rampage of violence in August 2022 on the Isle of Skye .
Outside the court, Detective Inspector Richard Baird read a statement praising MacKinnon as an exceptional father and a great man mourned by 600 people
