Valley Regional Fire said it's responding to a deadly small plane crash in Auburn on June 6, 2024. The Cessna aircraft reportedly crashed into a building on the 400 block of C Street NW. According to Auburn police, the " single male occupant " on the plane died.
"I just live around the block, I heard a big thud, I thought it was the train, or a car crash," Melody Carpenter, who lives nearby, said. "No explosion or anything, it was just a big loud boom like two cars hitting, that’s what it sounded like to me." Stuefen also shared some bystanders outside at the time tried to see what they could do to help, but quickly realized nothing could be done.
