You may not see an officer on the road, but there is something watching drivers in Pierce County.

"The sign reminds you: put on your seatbelt, don’t text and drive, watch your speed," said Capt. Gill. "One of the alarming increases is we have about 18% more fatalities on our surface streets inside the city limits. It’s kind of moving off the highway and into the cities," said Sgt. David Obermiller with the PPD.
