The 130-year-old business will shut down its Bold Street branch tomorrow
Fancy dress giant Smiffys, whose bright red doors have been open on Bold Street for more than 20 years, has thanked the people of Liverpool as it closes for the last time. RH Smith, which trades as Smiffys, went into administration in June this year after being 'significantly impacted significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw a huge drop in demand for costume and party products.
Thank you to the wonderful people of Liverpool for hosting us for over 20 years, we are very sad to leave and are acutely aware of the of the profound impact it will have on each member of our valued team, but it is a reality of a trading environment in a prime high street location.' Posters reading 'closing down, everything must go' can be seen in the shop's windows, with up to 75% off all remaining costumes.
