Sneering Luxembourg PM Bettel has reminded UK 'why they don't want to be in Europe', says Trump's UK chief Woody Johnson Brexit
SNEERING Luxembourg PM Xavier Bettel has reminded Britain “why they don’t want to be in Europe”, Donald Trump’s UK chief has said.
Instead he ranted to bemused reporters about Brexit being a “nightmare” and milked the whooping cheers of the noisy Remain crowd. The move was slammed as a "cheap ambush" by MPs and now Mr Johnson, the US ambassador to Britain, has also backed the PM and said Boris “knew he was walking into a trap”,"Of course he knew, but he's British. He said, 'What the hell. I can do this'.
I thought the people in Luxembourg accomplished something that maybe even Boris couldn't accomplish: show this is not where want to be, over there, when they treat us like that - your Prime Minister.
