The Met Office has given its verdict 🧐🥶
Snow is 'likely' to fall in mid-March, according to the latest Met Office long-range weather forecast, as it downplays chances of a new 'Beast from the East'.
A leading meteorologist has said that models are "hinting" that it will bring colder weather on the week beginning March 6. Chris Fawkes, who presents weather reports on BBC, has now said that the effects of the SSW are starting to become apparent, StokeonTrentLive reports. He told the M.E.N on Tuesday : “Within the next seven days – our current forecasting window – there is no prospect for a Beast from the East type weather set up. Conditions will turn cooler toward the end of the week and into the early part of next week, but these conditions are fuelled by home-grown cooler conditions and in fact the weather over the next week will be nothing unusual for the time of year: typical winter weather.
What is the 'Beast from the East'? The last 'Best from the East' occurred in February/March 2019. Roads and schools in the region were affected for several days. The Met Office explains what 'Beast from the East' phenomenon as "cold and wintry conditions in the UK as a result of easterly winds from the near continent.
