TEMPERATURES are set to plunge to just 1C as snow, strong winds and heavy rain lash the UK this weekend, weather forecasters have warned.
Friday will see see cloud and patchy rain accompanied by fog, although the fog will lift slowly over the course of the day. Patches of drizzle will move in throughout the day, with the north and west set to see heavy rain arriving later. Another band of rain moving across the country on Saturday night will bring showers to Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the west of England on Sunday morning.It will also hit cold air across Scotland, where temperatures are set to plunge as low as 1C, and is likely to fall as snow later on Sunday.Conditions will also be made worse across the country by strong winds throughout the weekend.
