Alison Thewliss said she had been called 'a f****** parasite', 'a rat' and 'a piece of s***' for questioning whether Michael Franzese should be allowed to perform in Glasgow.

An SNP MP has revealed she received vile abuse for calling out an ex-mobster linked to misogynistic influencer Andrew Tate.

Franzese's gig in Glasgow was cancelled after his links to Tate were revealed. Tate is facing rape and trafficking charges in Romania but says he is innocent. Thewliss mentioned the hate message she received during Prime Minister's Questions and called on Rishi Sunak to ban misogynists from entering the UK.

“This came in response to my challenging the appropriateness of a US citizen Michael Franzese who is doing a tour in the UK, and as part of that tour advocating publicly for the self-proclaimed misogynist influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who are encouraging toxic attitudes among young men in this country.
