Murray told MPs that Scottish Government's cuts were 'a problem of their own making that the Scottish people will suffer from'.

The £500m cuts announced by the Scottish Government have been caused by the SNP spending money "recklessly", Ian Murray has said.

Murray was speaking during Scotland Office questions for the first time since Labour came to power in July. "While this new Government is cleaning up the mess of the previous Conservative government, the SNP seem to be cleaning up their own mess at the moment. In response to a question from SNP MP Stephen Gethins about resetting the relationship between the UK and Scottish Governments, Murray said: "If they want to reset the relationship, they can start by taking responsibility for their own actions."
