I'm a local guy so to be given the opportunity to represent my hometown is really special.
“As the local SNP candidate I will also be a strong voice for Scotland - standing against the damaging austerity cuts and Brexit policies being imposed by Westminster, pressing for more powers for our Scottish Parliament, and making the case for a fairer and wealthier future as an independent country.”
A prominent campaigner, the politics and history graduate, a former pupil of Canberra Primary and Duncanrig Secondary schools in East Kilbride, led a Scottish Youth Parliament campaign to change the voting franchise for 16 and 17 year olds for Scottish elections and fought for equal marriage rights. "I do not know how you can then join that political party that implemented the exact opposite of everything you said one day ago you believed in. A party that is dragging the UK down and trying to take Scotland with it. For Lisa to defect to the Tory party I think is a real slap in the face to voters here in East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow.
