ITV has reportedly cancelled a major reality TV show, despite starring some of the nation’s biggest soap stars. Drama Queens debuted earlier this year - and has already been axed.
Soap fans have been left outraged as ITV has announced it’s cancelling a major series starring some of the nation’s biggest soap stars. Stars from the worlds of Coronation Street , Emmerdale , and Hollyoaks all appeared in the show, which has been axed.
The series, which aired for the first time in April this year, ran for eight episodes, with Ellie taking viewers backstage at the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, Roxy performing on Dancing On Ice, and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent going to a family get together. An inside source told The Sun : “Drama Queens was launched amid a lot of excitement and fanfare, but proved logistically quite difficult and expensive to make.”
The 2024 series saw the stars get personal behind the scenes, with Emmerdale star Laura sharing her struggles with returning to work after going on maternity leave. On the show she said, of going back to work full time with two children: “I’m up and down like a bride’s nightie.”
