Two police officers have been released from hospital after being overcome with toxic fumes inside a south-western Sydney home where they found a deceased 91-year-old man.
Emergency services were called to the house on Hillview St, in Roselands, on Wednesday about 9:53pm after a son discovered his father's body and reported it to police.

Offer ends 31 October, 2023 Both officers on scene were taken to hospital, with one treated for chemical burns. The pair have since been discharged and will return to work on Thursday afternoon.
“He was quite emotional when we took the 24-year-old male into police custody. And as a result, police had to step into restrain him. He was not arrested, and he will not be charged. He was basically just restrained and removed from the location so that we could calm him down," she said.
