On Saturday night in San Juan Capistrano, California, athletes from all over the world will converge on the track at JSerra Catholic High School to chase fast times at Sound Running ’s The TEN. Marketed as “the World’s fastest 25 laps,” the meet has seen over a dozen national records , including the current American records set by Alicia Monson (30:03) and Grant Fisher (26:33).
This year features the deepest fields yet, with the men being paced to achieve the Olympic standard of 27:00, and the women being paced for the 30:40 standard. There will also be pro sections of the 1500 meters contested earlier in the evening, and some competitive high school events as well.
