Mary Ward, 22, was found dead by police officers at her home on Melrose Street on 1 October.
A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a 22-year-old woman was found in south Belfast.The Police Service of Northern Ireland said that following a review of its previous engagement with Ms Ward, the case has been referred to the office of the Police Ombudsman.
"This is absolutely appalling. Four families have been shattered forever by meaningless violence," she said.
