Students competed to find out who is the 'best of the best' as role models for safe driving.

Students across the Susquehanna Valley tested their driving skills in PennDOT's annual Youth Safe Driving Competition .The competition is designed to stress the importance of safety while out on the roads.School districts in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and Perry counties participated.Each student had to make it through a driving course created by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association .The driving test was followed by a written test to see how much they know about road safety.

'With more and more schools driving away their education program, we reach out in any way we can, and this is one of them,' said Matt Frampton, with South Central PA Highway Safety. 'Some of these kids will hear these same things from their parents. Those that are lucky enough to have a drivers ed program and chose to take it will hear it from their teachers. We like to reinforce that.
