South Lanarkshire Council is celebrating a year of being a period positive local authority.
This week marked a year since the council implemented legislation for period products and committed to making a positive impact to ensure they are available to those who need it.
In the last year, the council has distributed 52,691 boxed and reusable products, that’s 48,048 single use products and 4643 reusable products. There are now over 200 collection points in the community including local libraries, community halls, leisure centres, community groups, health centres, youth centres andAnd the council supports 148 schools to offer free products.
