Axel Rudakubana, the 18-year-old accused of fatally stabbing three girls at a dance class in Southport, has faced new charges in court. Appearing via videolink from HMP Belmarsh at Westminster Magistrates' Court, Rudakubana remained silent throughout the proceedings, even when asked to confirm his name.
The teenager now faces additional charges of producing a biological toxin, Ricin, and possessing information likely to be useful to someone committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism. Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC also referred to the murder and attempted murder charges that Rudakubana is facing, stating that he is charged with "offences committed in Southport in July".
