A Southport child killer was ordered to leave the dock just minutes into his sentencing hearing today after unleashing a harrowing attack on a Taylor Swift -themed dance class . The parents of the three little girls murdered by Axel Rudakubana in the July 29, 2024, attack have given heartbreaking victim impact statements detailing their profound grief and the stolen futures of their children.

The statements, read out at Liverpool Crown Court, painted a picture of the unimaginable pain inflicted by Rudakubana's actions. Jenni Stancombe, the mother of seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, described Rudakubana as 'pure evil,' stating that he had stolen her daughter's future. 'That day we lost our beloved daughter, the three of us lost our best friend,' she said. 'But we are not going to stand here and list everything you have taken away from us, because we refuse to give you the satisfaction of hearing it. We will not let you know anything about her because you don't deserve to know the extraordinary person she was. You know what you have done, and we hope the weight of that knowledge haunts you every single day.' Alice da Silva Aguiar's parents, Alexandra and Sergio Aguiar, spoke of the 'permanent numbness' of living without their nine-year-old daughter. 'Living without Alice is not living at all. It's a state of permanent numbness,' they said. 'We can't see her picture and videos, they take us back to a time when we were so happy and now we're in constant pain.' They added that they would keep Alice's belongings safe, including her clothes, teddies, and even her cat, Niko, who misses her dearly. Dance instructor Leanne Lucas, who was stabbed five times during the attack, said she was surviving for the victims. Rudakubana was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 52 years after pleading guilty to the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, as well as the attempted murders of eight other children and two adults. He also admitted to possessing a knife on the day of the attack, producing ricin, and possessing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism
