Manchester United defender Jonny Evans says a belief he is still improving as a player is fuelling his desire to continue at the top level.
"I love playing football. I've had spells, the season before last, where I've had injury problems and you miss it when you're not playing," he said. "I felt like it was a big moment for him. I’m glad he got to lift it like that. The manager was great for me, brought me back in and showed a lot of faith in me so it was nice he was able to have that moment.""I think he is a top class manager and, like I said before, the thing that keeps me going especially is learning about the game and I learned an awful lot last season with different styles of playing the game," he said.
With young players like Conor Bradley, Shea Charles and Isaac Price increasingly to the fore during the three-game unbeaten run, Evans says he can see parallels with the building of a squad that went on to qualify for Euro 2016."Maybe that comes from a little bit of confidence and a little bit of belief that they belong at this level. The last three results have probably given them that.
"We've had to cater for some of the players from the Championship or League One - their season finished in early May so there was a fitness element to that, but the players came in good condition, some of the players joined slightly later but in good condition.
