The Arkansas Special Olympics runs Friday and Saturday in Searcy but festivities for local athletes began today with the law enforcement torch run.
The summer Olympics may be a few months away, but the Arkansas Special Olympics begin this Friday. On Tuesday, local law enforcement held their annual torch run all around Jonesboro. “That little spark grew and became, not only a nationwide flame of hope, but a worldwide flame of hope," Brian Arnold said.
Tuesday, local law enforcement began their annual torch run at the Jonesboro Police Department, running down Caraway, Race Street, and Red Wolf Boulevard before finishing at Centennial Bank. “We run it to help raise awareness for special Olympic athletes, not just in our community, but all over the world," Arnold said.
