Ready to send it? So is the Status 2, now in five different unique offerings depending on your style, and size...

Click to email a link to a friend The Status is not your typical Specialized. Sure, it relies on the brand’s engineering chops to offer the ideal kinematics and geometry, but instead of chasing grams, the Status is more about chasing hang time. And holding up to the pursuit.

All three models rely on a redesigned M5 aluminum chassis that is engineered to be as durable as possible. Frame specifics include a Horst link suspension system with a geo pivot chip in the Horst pivot, a threaded bottom bracket, internal cable routing with external rear brake cable routing option, 12 x 148mm dropouts, SRAM UDH, and sealed bearing pivots.

On the 170 S0, the frame also employs an air shock instead of a coil shock, along with narrower handlebars and shorter cranks. If you consider the S0 models as separate bikes, there are five different configurations of the new Status S2. Pricing starts at $2000 for the Status 2 170 frameset, and complete bikes start at $3,000 for the Status 170 S0 & 140 S0. The Status 2 140 and 170 then sell for $3,500, and the Status 2 DH bumps up to $4,500.
